Mind the Sheep

For breakfast this morning, we had an a range of corn flakes, muesli, yoghurt, toast and lots of juices. What a delicious breakfast! :)

After we ate our breakfast, we were excited to find out that we were going to the woodcarver and into town today. Everyone collected their bags and we set off on our journey. After 3 stops on the bus we arrived at the bottom of the hill to the woodcarver. Although Helen told us it was a very short walk, it took half an hour to hike up the mountain. We came across some very angry sheep and hidden waterfalls before finally arriving at the woodcarvers. At the woodcarvers, we were able to look around the shop to see how they made some of the figures out of wood. Amazingly, the ceiling of the shop was covered in badges, left by other units. We were even able to get our names engraved in the wood! Although some of the items were quite expensive, it was because they were all made by hand and took a while to make. After buying a few bits and bobs, we sat at the top of the hill to eat lunch. It was then time to head back down the hill. On the way down, there was a flock of angry sheep that tried to chase us down the hill, they took a liking to Alice because of her very impressive lamb impressions, BAAAHHH!

We arrived into town on the very fast, shaky bus going round the gorgeous mountains. Once we arrived, we had to reapply sun cream as the sun was blazing down on us. Then it was time for us to get into teams for our epic treasure hunt around town. For even more of a challenge, Helen decided to test our time management skills by giving us a set time to arrive back (some of us where a bit late!). While running around the town, we also had time to do our shopping. While doing our challenge, lots of us came across a "COOP" where we spent lots of money on snacks and sweets! oops!

After running around town completing our challenge of Adelboden, it was time to regroup and head back to Our Chalet. We jumped onto the bus and hiked up the hill AGAIN, and got back to Our Chalet with time for us to play outside before meeting again for dinner. For dinner tonight, we had a chicken casserole with rice and salad and for dessert we had peaches and cream. The food was very nice! After dinner, the leaders were surprised with a wonderful 'thank you' video created by the Guides and Rangers. Such a special moment, celebrated by a group hug.

After dinner, it was time to get ready for our campfire. Edda, Katherine and Kaleria went to make and start the fire, it was HUGE! We all headed up to the campfire at  8pm to start. Helen led us in lots of campfire songs, improv and Charades. We all enjoyed the final night together, singling and laughing, around our amazing campfire. The leaders surprised us with Our Chalet badges as well as our Nights Away badges. Sana, Reya, Scarlett and Faye made their Guide promise around the campfire.

It was a special night for all of us, which we will never forget. We ended the night singing Linger and Make New Friends before heading back to the rooms to get some sleep for the night.
