Water Day

Hello, Hello, Hello! We started our day with breakfast which was a large selection ranging from eggs, toast, muesli, and lots of fruit. After we had our breakfast, we made our lunches to take out with us today. We then gathered together to head off on our walk (half hour later then planned because of the amount of times we ran back to get stuff we forgot).  We finally set off on our walk (hike) to the waterfall.  Although it was a very very very long walk, we spotted lots of different things on the way, like cows, bells, mountain goats and a funny looking water fountain.  We took lot of breaks along the way till we finally made it to the waterfall.  The waterfall was magical and amazing! We didn't realise how big it was till we were stood at the bottom of it. It was huge! The water cascaded down the mountain splashing us, cooling us down. We sat down eating our lunch overlooking the view of the falls. 






After the longest walk of our lives, we took the red bus to the swimming pools. We arrived to the swimming pool which was massive! We instantly ran over towards the pool when Helen and Edda surprised us with another pool! We got changed super quick to make the most of our time at the pool and jumped into the indoor pool! We played inside for a little bit but then headed to the outside pool where we ran straight to the water slides and the diving boards. There was a MASSIVE slide with water jets. Everyone showed of their flips and jumping in from the diving board! It was lots of fun and we could've stayed there all day but it was time to head back to Our Chalet in time for dinner.



After meeting lots of new people on the bus home, sharing some of our experiences in Switzerland, it was time to face the hill again. We hiked AGAIN up the very long hill just in time to have our dinner. We had a little bit of time before heading down to be greeted by the leaders for dinner. Megan and Sarah led a grace from the book and the servers started dishing out our food. Tonight we had Alper Mac which was similar to macaroni cheese with potatoes and broccoli. Our food was scrumptious and filled us up until it was time for desert . We have a lemon mouse which put a smile on our faces :) 


We spent lots of time outside for the rest of the evening playing a massive game of tag and hide and seek! We finished the day by celebrating Sarah's Birthday with a card we all made for her and lots and lots of birthday cake!

Day 1 - The Incredible Journey

 What an amazing day we have had! This morning we all gathered at the Christ Church in Chislehurst. Our journey began at 5am when we climbed aboard the coach. Our journey was filled with happiness and beautiful views, our journey on the coach lasted for an hour. When we arrived at Heathrow Airport we checked in our luggage and went through security, we spent an hour in the departure lounge where we bought breakfast and walked around a few of the shops.  When it was time for our flight we walked to our gate and boarded the plane. The plane journey lasted for an hour and forty minutes which went faster than originally anticipated. We made our way to the train station, we travelled out of the airport and hopped onto a train which was very long:two hours we skipped off that train feeling good that it was over and got lunch (sandwiches) we took our last train and enjoyed our forty-five minute journey. Wanderers and gondolas

It's our first full day in Our Chalet and so far the entire trip has been amazing! Switzerland is such a pretty place, and we have all really loved exploring today! This morning, after our breakfast, we had our very special Pinning ceremony where we all came together to make our promise and talk about the duties to the world our Girl Guides. The pinning ceremony was such a special event because it reminded us of the fact that guides in not just a club in our local area, but a global movement which unites us with 10 million members across the world. We all received a special Our Chalet pin badge which we only receive when staying at a world centre and can't be purchased online or swapped.   After our Pinning Ceremony, we had a tour of Our Chalet and got to learn about the history of it, which included the founder (Helen Storrow), old furniture, donations from different countries and much more.  We then took a walk down the very long hill to get a bus to Adelboden wher...
